Knife

Over the month I am creating a knife to be implemented into a zombie like game. I will be creating the high resolution model with in Autodesk Maya using normal decals along with modeling the main forms. The game resolution will be based off the high resolution model I have created with in the first week of this month long project. In the second week I will have had the game resolution model and the Uvs done along with the bakes in Substance Painter. With in the third week I well be placing textures and logos applied to the model.

Smith & Wesson SW7.

The Iray render in substance painter. I worked on changing the values to help certain things become more attractive. I found making the dirt/mud feel more realistic then last wee was a bit difficult.

This is the game rez model of the Smith and Wesson Sw7 with textures applied. The hardest part was adding in the story element of mud and scratches to make it feel as though it was used outside.

This week I modeled out the game resolution which was not as hard as modeling the high resolution of the knife. I went and found more references and found out that the butt of the tang has a cap making this knife a hidden tang assembly.

Smith & Wesson Sw7 High Resolution Model. The hardest part about modeling the knife was the blade. Understanding how the edges of the blade were shaped and how to make them look sharp was the difficult part.
